PERMITS--Film-making in many areas of Australia requires specific permits from relevant authorities, whether they be Indigenous Land holders, Pastoralists, National Parks, Marine Parks, Aviation Authorities, City Councils, Shire Councils and others.
APPLICATIONS--Processing an application for film work or photography may take up to three weeks or longer where the application may have to be submitted to Indigenous Councils for approval by Elders of the tribes concerned. While the majority of Indigenous communities welcome film-production protocols must be observed it is not a film-makers "As of Right" to film and certain aspects of Indigenous culture must be rigidly observed.
